Photo guide

A great photo makes a great portrait. Here is what works best.

Do

  • Face the camera, with both eyes visible
  • Bright, even light (daylight works best)
  • Sharp and in focus, taken recently
  • Only your child in the photo, or one face that is easy to pick out
  • The original photo from your phone or camera

Avoid

  • Sunglasses, hats or hands covering the face
  • Blurry, dark or heavily filtered photos
  • Face turned away or seen from far off
  • Screenshots or very small images

    Not quite what I expected

I liked the idea of the Young Aviator portrait, but the crop and color balance were not quite right for the little one.

    Great overall result

The Young Aviator concept worked really well for the little one. The finished canvas looks polished, though I would have preferred slightly richer colors.

    Such a special gift

The Young Aviator design was a perfect match for our photo. The portrait has a polished look and makes a memorable addition to the wall.
